It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I get to serve as the 34th Fire Chief of this great department, and I get the honor of leading the men and women of the Fortuna
Volunteer Fire Department. The Fortuna Fire Department consists of 60 volunteers, 20 support members, a Junior Firefighter program, and four paid staff that our citizens, visitors, and community partners can be proud of and share in the accomplishments of our fire district.
It is important to remember that our volunteers take valuable time away from their families and friends to ensure that they are prepared to respond to the next alarm. This could even be their own house or their neighbor's, their favorite family market or restaurant, and so on. This tradition of serving the community where you live as a volunteer firefighter is fast going by the wayside. It is my distinct honor to lead your community-oriented volunteers daily. I am proud of their accomplishments and dedication each and every day.
The Fortuna Fire Department is an "All Risk" department. We will respond to the community's needs, regardless of the nature of the incident, and begin solving the problem while working towards a positive outcome.
As Fire Chief, I will continue to embody the core values that have built this organization. I shall dedicate my time to providing superior customer service and excellence in all we do. I am committed to our community members, residents, visitors, and business owners. As Fire Chief, I welcome residents to stop by the fire station and meet the men and women of our department.
In closing, it is my promise to the residents, visitors, and business owners of the City of Fortuna and surrounding communities to provide them with a department that is committed to standing ready to assist you in your time of need, day or night, with compassion, professionalism, respect, and dignity.
