I am very fortunate to work alongside such a dedicated group of Firefighters, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians and professional support staff. These highly trained and effective professionals are very committed to serving our community and rural district area. We strive to deliver our services with compassion, understanding and respect in every contact.
I have been in public service for 33 years and I am humbly prepared to continue to serve you as an experienced public safety professional. As a resident of Glenwood Springs, I share your desire in continuing to support a robust, sustainable and thriving community through safety. Our mission remains to provide service through dedication, professionalism and excellence.
I am encouraged to lead and bring to bear evidence based best practices, training and contemporary techniques to the artful craft of firefighting, rescue operations, community risk assessment, risk reduction, and collaboration. It is my belief that we are successful from our cooperation with our community as we engage in the co-production of our public safety services with our residents, businesses and visitors and it is the cornerstone of our existence. At every opportunity we subscribe to a culture of integrity and honor.
Our team of full and part time professionals are constantly striving to work collaboratively with your city staff members to strengthen service delivery through our reduction in response times, achieving defined goals within the City’s master plans as well as reducing mortality, and property loss through effective programs that address the needs of citizens.
Our daily training regimen and modern equipment allow us to literally save numerous lives each year. It is through our community education and outreach programs that we are determined to bring added awareness of the dangers, particularly in a wildfire prone region, of the modern fire and rescue environment in which our citizens work, live and play. These education and mitigation programs include residential and wildfire assessment risks, wildland/urban interface risks and frequent business and school inspections.
I recognize my privilege to serve our district and humbly look forward to continuing this service for many years.
Sincerely and respectfully,
